Initial Use

WARNING
Danger of infection due to non-sterile handling!

Non-sterile application and improper sterilization can lead to serious health hazards for
patients.

Application

Prior to each use, the forceps must be subjected to a visual inspection and a functional test
and must be cleaned and sterilized. Before using the bipolar forceps check if they are clean, in
sound condition and if the insulation is intact. Damaged forceps must be withdrawn from
service at once!
Similar to silver, the polished noble-metal tips of the NON-STICK
This discoloration of the working tips is normal and no reason for concern. It has no negative
effect on the functioning of the instruments. The original shine can be re-established by wiping
the tips with a silver polishing cloth.
The coagulation current can be activated either with the footswitch or automatically
(i. e. via the electrosurgical unit automatic activation function (if available)).
WARNING
Peril to life or danger of serious physical injury due to prion infection!
Destroy bipolar forceps after potential contact with prions (risk of CJD contamination!) and do
not use again under any circumstances!
WARNING
Risk of electric shock and / or burns due to the automatic activation function of the
electrosurgical device!
The triggering of an automatic system or unintentional triggering of an activation element can
cause uncontrolled activation of HF current.
Bipolar forceps and cables must only be connected to the electrosurgical device when it is
