Material Resistance
Verify that the substances listed below are not among the components of the cleaning or
disinfection detergent:
Organic, mineral, and oxidizing acids (minimum admitted pH-value 5.5)

Strong lye (maximum admitted pH-value 12)
•
Organic solvents (e. g. acetone, ether, alcohol, white gas)
•
Oxidizing agents (e. g. peroxide)
•
Halogens (chlorine, iodine, bromine)
•
Aromatized, halogenated hydrocarbons
•
4.3
Sterilization
4.3.1
Before sterilization
Perform a visual check for intact insulation, cleanliness and potential damage.

Similar to silver, the polished stainless steel tips of the NON-STICK
•
tarnish. This discoloration of the working tips is normal and no reason for concern.
It has no negative effect on the functioning of the instruments. The original shine can be
re-established by wiping the tips with a silver polishing cloth.
The forceps must be cleaned, disinfected, rinsed with distilled water and finally dried
•
carefully.
4.3.2
Performing the Sterilization
WARNING
Peril to life or danger of serious physical injury due to prion infection!
Destroy forceps after potential contact with prions (risk of CJD contamination!) and do not
use again under any circumstances!
WARNING
Danger of infection due to non-sterile handling!
Improper sterilization and non-sterile application can lead to serious health hazards for
patients.
Sterilization must be carried out according to a validated steam sterilization process,
according to the applicable norms EN 285 2009, DIN EN 13060 and ISO 17665-1:2006.
