IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTES

<< The machine may not be operated by more
than one person at any given time!
The machine was designed for safe operation
by "one person only".
<< During the shredding process no other
work may be performed on the machine
(for example cleaning, etc.)!
<< The machine is not a toy, and is not suitable
for use by children!
The overall technical safety concept of
this machine (dimensions, feed openings,
emergency shutdown devices etc.) does not
provide for any guarantee regarding hazard-
free operation by children.
<< Repairs may only be performed by trained
personnel!
EXPLANATION OF THE CONTROLS:
1 = Function switch (fig. 1)
(automatic / off / reverse / forwards)
This switch is for the following functions:
- position „AUTO"
machine is ready for operation
- position „OFF"
machine is switched off
- position „REV"
cutting blades are reversing
- position „FWD/CD"
cutting blades rotate forwards.
2 = Mechanical sensor (forward run) (fig. 2)
Starts the shredding process as soon as
material is fed into the paper feed slot.

mable liquids or gases into the inlet open-

<< In case of danger switch the machine off
with the mains switch, or with the emer-

mains power supply before opening the
machine!
OPERATION
3 = Pilot lamp
„AUTO" / „REV" / „FWD/VD" (fig. 1)
Lights when the function switch (1) is operated
(position „AUTO", „REV", „FWD/CD").
4 = Paper feed slot (fig. 2)
5 = CD/DVD feed slot (fig. 2)
6 = Paper receptacle (fig. 4)
7 = Collection tray CD/DVD (fig. 4)
8 = Receptacle full window (fig. 4)
The shredder may not be used as a
step ladder or as a seat. Danger of
falling due to breakage!

INITIATION
SCOPE OF APPLICATION:
The papermonster L160 data shredder is
designed for shredding general printed material
and data media such as CDs, DVDs and credit
cards.
This machine should only be used for
shredding paper and credit cards and
for shredding CDs and DVDs!
Any attempt to shred other types of data
medium may result in damage to the
machine (e.g. destruction of the cutting
mechanism etc.).
INSTALLATION:
- Unpack and set machine upright.
- Plug in the machine (for instructions for the
necessary precautions see „TECHNICAL
DATA").
To disconnect the machine from the
power supply system, please unplug
the power plug.
The socket outlet shall be installed
near the equipment and shall be easily
accessible!
Only operate the machine in enclosed
rooms at temperatures between 10°C
and 25°C!
MATERIAL FEED:
Paper feed slot
Turn the function switch (1) (fig. 1) in position
„AUTO". Pilot lamp (3) lights up.
Feed paper (credit card) into the cutting
mechanism through the paper feed slot (4) (fig.
2).
The machine automatically switches to forwards
running, draws the material in and automatically
switches off after shredding.
Note: For shredding transparent films, the
machine must be manually switched to forwards
running.
CD/DVD feed slot
Turn the function switch (1) (fig. 1) in position
„FWD/CD". The cutting blades rotate forwards.
Pilot lamp (3) lights up.
Feed data carriers (CD or DVD) into the cutting
mechanism individually into the separate CD/
DVD feed slot (5) (fig. 2).
After the shredding process, place the function
switch (1) (fig. 1) in position "AUTO" or "OFF".
When shredding papers, do not shred
CD/DVD at the same time, and vice
versa!
Never feed the shredder with a
quantity of material exceeding the
maximum indicated.

"MATERIAL JAM IN MACHINE" under
"MALFUNCTIONS".
