Identification/ markings
Shackles that are suitable for lifting purposes are stamped with the following mark to specify
the quality and safety level of the shackles:
Standard identification of green pin shackles:
• Working load limit (WLL) e.g. WLL 25 T
• Manufacturer's mark
• Batch number
• Grade
• CE conformity marking
Green Pin® shackles meet all the relevant requirements of the Machinery Directive
2006/42/EG.
Customer-specific identification
For an additional form of identification specified by the customer for traceability of the test
required by BGR 500, a mark can be applied to the following places:
IMPORTANT
In accordance with EN 13889, the bolts must also feature a corresponding mark. Shackles
with load bearing capacities of 0.33 – 1.5 tonnes are an exception, as it is not possible to
make a stamp on the bolt due to its small size.
Product and user information
for shackles
e.g. -BS- stands for Van Beest
e.g. -H- with reference to a production batch
e.g. 4, 6, 8
CE, Conformité Européen indicates that the
product is suitable for lifting purposes.
