7. Working life
7.2 Installation
7.2.1 General
•
Before installation, the corrosion protection at the shaft ends of linear units with drives must
be removed.
•
No cleaning agents must enter the bearing.
•
When installing transfer components such as clutches or motor adapters, blows to the shaft
ends or impacts to the drive pins must be avoided, in order to prevent the bearing damaged
or becoming unbalanced.
•
The linear unit must be secured on a level surface with a minimum accuracy of 0.20 mm/m
•
The linear unit must not be tensioned during installation.
•
For operations, sufficient fixing points are to be chosen between the linear unit and the base.
•
Loads to be moved by the linear unit must be correct and secured adequately for the applica-
tion.
•
The high intrinsic weight of components and the linear unit generates dangers for persons
and property.
•
When installing a motor on the linear unit, you must take care to align its motor shaft and
drive shaft axially.
•
Linear units are mounted and adjusted at an ambient temperature of +20° Celsius.
The following applies for linear axis version with gear rack > 2,000 mm:
temperature difference > 5° Celsius at the installation location relating to the assembly tem-
perature (+20° Celsius) can lead to partitioning differences in the area of the gear rack tran-
sitions and impair the running properties of the linear axis.
In this case, the gear racks of the linear axis must be readjusted at the installation location.
If readjustment is necessary, please contact RK Rose+Krieger GmbH.
