Using for the first time

Fitting the saw blade
DANGER! Risk of injury! Pull out the
power plug before conducting any mainte-
nance work on the device.
Shortly after sawing, the saw blade may be
very hot. Risk of burning! Allow a hot blade
to cool down. Never clean a hot saw blade
with flammable liquids.
Even a saw blade which is at a standstill can
still cut! Always wear gloves when replacing
the saw blade.
Note: If necessary the saw blade can be
rotated by 180° and thus tensioned.

Suitable saw blades: ► P. 3, item 3, ► Technical
data – p. 27.
– Turn the locking sleeve (1) anti-clockwise
– Place the saw blade (7) as far as it will go into the
holder.
– Release the locking sleeve (1).
– Ensure that the blade is securely fitted into place.
Rotating the handle
► P. 3, item 4
The handle can be locked in three different positions.
Do this by holding down the release button (2) and
rotating the handle.

Operation

Check before switching on!
Check to make sure the device is in a safe operating
condition:

– Check to make sure there are no visible defects.
– Check to make sure all device components are
correctly mounted.
Switching on and off
– Switching on: Press the On/Off button (3).
• The LED (8) will light up.
– Permanent operation: Press the locking button
with the On/Off switch (4) held down.
– Set the required stroke rate with the rotating reg-
ulator (5).
Adjusting the foot plate

The foot plate can be moved along the length accord-
ing to saw blade length and application.
– Press and hold the unlocking button (9).
– Move the foot plate (6) into the required position.
– Release the unlocking button (9) again.
Sawing
DANGER! Risk of kick back! Always
guide the saw, never the work piece!
Always hold the unit tightly with both hands.
Never pull the saw backwards!
Never tilt the blade!
DANGER! Risk of injury! Never hold the
work piece that you are working with in your
hand, on your lap, or against other body
parts.
Always clamp the work piece firmly in place.
Do not process work pieces that are too
small to be clamped.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the unit!
Only use saw blades that are appropriate for
the material you are processing.
Always operate the saw with gentle force.
– Turn on the device.
– Wait until the blade has reached the full stroke
rate.
– Position the foot plate on the workpiece. The foot
plate should always be in contact with the work-
piece.
– Allow the saw blade to bite into the workpiece.
– Guide the saw blade with a moderate, constant
pressure through the workpiece.
– Switch the device off and allow the saw blade to
come to a complete standstill.
– Remove the saw blade from the workpiece.
Plunge sawing

NOTICE! Risk of damage to the unit! A
plunge cut can only be made in softer mate-
rials (e. g. wood, plasterboard). For harder
materials, a hole must be drilled that is suit-
able for the saw blade.
– Only use short saw blades for plunge cuts.
