2 Safety Notes

The units (monitor and power supply unit) correspond
to all required directives of the EU and are therefore
marked with
.
WARNING The monitor and the power supply unit
operate with hazardous mains voltage.
Leave servicing to skilled personnel
only. Never make any modification on
the units and do not insert anything
through the air vents of the monitor
housing. Inexpert handling may cause
an electric shock hazard.
6
It is essential to observe the following items:
CAUTION! The picture tube of the monitor is
vacuous. In case of mechanical damage there is an
implosion hazard and scattered glass may cause
injuries.
The units are suitable for indoor use only. Protect
them against dripping water and splash water, high
air humidity, and heat (admissible ambient tempera-
ture range 0 – 40 °C).
Do not place any vessels filled with liquid, e. g. drink-
ing glasses, on the monitor.
The heat being generated in the monitor must be
carried off by air circulation. Therefore, the air vents
at the housing must not be covered.
Do not set the monitor into operation, or immediate-
ly disconnect the power supply unit from the mains
socket if
1. there is visible damage to the monitor or the
power supply unit,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or simi-
lar accident,
3. malfunctions occur.
The units must in any case be repaired by skilled
personnel.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no means
chemicals or water.
No guarantee claims for the units and no liability for
any resulting personal damage or material damage
will be accepted if the units are used for other pur-
poses than originally intended, if they are not cor-
rectly connected, operated, or not repaired in an
expert way.
If the units are to be put out of operation de-
finitively, take them to a local recycling plant
for a disposal which is not harmful to the envi-
ronment.

3 Applications

The handy B/W monitor CDM-602 is suitable for uni-
versal applications, e. g. in a small video surveillance
system or for multimedia applications. For audio repro-
duction, a small speaker is integrated.
Up to two audio/video sources (e. g. surveillance
camera, video recorder) may be connected which can
be supplied with 12 V
tor. It is possible to switch between the sources either
manually or automatically with adjustable dwell time.
The parallel outputs allow to pass on the audio and
video signals of the selected source to another unit.
Via a selector switch the monitor can be adjusted to the
video standard CCIR or EIA.
