TROUBLESHOOTING
Visit a Princess Auto Ltd. location for a solution if the tool does not function
properly or parts are missing. If unable to do so, have a qualified technician
service the tool.
Problem(s)
The jaws will
not open.
The stroke is
too short.
The riveter has
weak pulling action.
Leaking air.

Possible Cause(s)
The nosepiece is loose.
The jaws are dirty.
The rivet pin is not
properly inserted into
the riveter.
The riveter is low on
hydraulic oil.
The rivet is the wrong size
Low air pressure.
Inadequately
sized compressor.
Damaged air compressor.
The riveter is low on
hydraulic oil.
There are poor hose
connections in the system.
Damaged O-ring.
Dirty air valve or air inlet.
Suggested Solution(s)
Tighten the nosepiece.
Remove and clean the jaws.
Fully insert the rivet pin.
Top up the hydraulic oil
reservoir and prime the riveter.
Use the proper rivet length.
Check the regulator to verify that
it is set to 90 PSI.
Upgrade to a suitable
compressor of
adequate capability.
Have the compressor serviced
by a qualified service centre.
Top up the hydraulic oil
reservoir and prime the riveter.
Reconnect the air system
using thread sealant tape on
the fittings.
Replace the O-ring.
Clean and lubricate with
pneumatic tool oil.
