6.4.4
Connection to the chimney
To connect to the chimney, choose an air-tight connection duct that has a diameter of at least 80 mm to ensure a
good seal between the various elements (clamp) and contains no heat-sensitive material.
The connection must be as short as possible and entirely visible.
The connection must not be made to a duct used by other appliances (boilers, stoves, chimneys, etc.) or air
extraction system (hoods, vents, etc.).
If the appliance hopper is placed against a wall, the connection duct should be close to the wall. In this case, there
are two possibilities to avoid overheating issues:
•
The wall must be made of materials that cannot be damaged by heat or are resistant to high temperatures.
•
The connection to the appliance must be made by an insulated duct compatible with the proximity of the
wall.
6.4.5
Chimney flue
The size and materials of the chimney flue must be certified according to EN1856-1-2, EN1857, EN1443, EN13384-
1-3, and EN12391-1.
For existing flues, the installer is responsible for the existing parts. The installer must check the condition of the flue
and make any necessary adjustments for its proper functioning and compliance with regulations:
•
Compatibility of the flue with its use
•
Stability
•
Vacuity and tightness (Annex II of DTU 24-1).
If the flue is not compatible, make a casing using a technically-appropriate process or install a new flue.
In accordance with the DTUs, the installer must provide the worksheet according to EN13384-1.
6.4.6
Electrical connection
Connect the stove to the main power supply with the supplied
plug.
The electrical connection (plug) must remain easily accessible and
visible after installing the stove.
The stove must be positioned so the electrical cable does not
come into contact with hot areas.
The outlet used for the appliance must be grounded and on a
designated circuit in accordance with current standards.
WARNING: the flue must be equipped with its own grounded
circuit
WARNING: if the power cable is damaged in any way, it must be
replaced by a qualified technician to prevent any risks.
