3. OPERATING MODES

"AUT": AUTOMATIC OPERATING MODE
Key-operated selector switch in "AUTO" position
Red AUTOFUNCTION OFF indicator light off.
Red FAILURE TO START indicator light off
Red PUMP RUNNING indicator light off
Red CONTROLLER FAULT indicator light off
Automatic start-up
The starting of the engine is caused by a command from a pressure switch, which opens the
contact (NO) between terminals 11 and 12 on the terminal board. 1 second delay.
The following information is displayed:
- AUTO mode
- PUMP RUNNING
- Engine rpm/ hour counter
- Battery voltage
- Lighting up of red PUMP RUNNING indicator light
Manual start-up
"Press the START button if the indicator light is on"
The manual START test button, with the key-operated selector switch in the AUTO position, is
enabled only after the engine has failed to start automatically and has shut off, or after six
failed attempts to start up automatically.
The following information is displayed:
- Lighting up of red FAILURE TO START indicator light
- Lighting up of yellow START button indicator light
- AUTO mode
- Failure to start
- Battery voltage
Shut-off
Manual shut-off by means of STOP button (the Stop button is enabled only if the status of
the start-up pressure switch has returned to the closed condition, with the pressure restored).
Note: even if the pressure is restored and the pressure switch contact closes again, the motor
pump will keep running and must be shut off manually as described above. This operating
method complies with the requirements of the firefighting standards.
On the modified version designed for fire-hydrant networks, the motor pump shuts off
automatically after the pressure has been restored for the established length of time (default
setting 20 minutes)
