Reset push button (ORM)
Pushing the push button resets the ORM.
1.4 REDUNDANCY FUNCTIONS
Backbone as ring
The line structure of a backbone set up with
OSMs can be closed to form a redundant
ring with the aid of an ORM. If a link failure
arises, the error is recognized within 0.5
seconds (with up to 50 OSMs) and rectified
by the ORM.
Only one ORM may be employed in a
redundant ring.
Note: With the redundant ring structure,
components other than OSMs/ORM may
not be included (e.g. switches).

2.1 UNPACKING, CHECKING
Check whether the package was deliver-
ed complete (see scope of delivery).
Check the individual parts for transport
damage.

2.2 ASSEMBLY
The equipment is delivered in a ready-to-
operate condition. The following procedure
is appropriate for assembly:
Mounting the rubber feet
Stick the rubber feet supplied to the bottom
of the device in order to set it up as a desk-
top unit.
Remove the backing from the adhesive
film of the rubber feet.
Stick one rubber foot approx. 2 cm from
each corner of the device.
Note: The surface should be free of dust
and grease.
Screwing on the mounting brackets
Attach the mounting brackets supplied
as shown in Fig. 3:
First loosen the four corresponding
screws on one side of the device
Attach the first mounting bracket with
the 4 screws.
Repeat on the other side.

Grounding the ORM´s (optional)
The housing of the ORM is grounded via
the sperate grounding screw. It is on the
device back on the right next to the fan.
Fasten the grounding cable on the
grounding screw.
3.3 STARTUP PROCEDURE
You start up the ORM by connecting the
supply voltage via the 5-pin terminal block.
Lock the terminal block with the locking
screws at the side.
