Note:
circaid juxtacures will fit a 19
cm - 42 cm ankle circumference
and a 25 cm - 64 cm calf
circumference. circaid
juxtacures will not
accommodate more than a 30
cm difference in circumference
from the ankle to the calf
measurement. If your patient
exceeds these measurements,
alternative compression
garments are available for
order.
The circaid compression anklet
will fit a maximum arch
circumference of 36 cm for
the Standard size and 41 cm for
the Large size, the maximum
ankle circumference is 27 cm
for the Standard size and 50 cm
for the Large size.
If your patient exceeds these
measurements, further foot
options are available for order.
Customizing the circaid
juxtacures:
Step 1: Separate the body (1a)
and spine (1b) from one
another, unroll the bottom
band and locate the number
markings along the bottom and
top edge of the body piece (1a).
Step 2: Locate the patient's
ankle circumference
measurement amongst the
printed numbers along the
bottom edge. Then, locate the
patient's calf circumference
measurement amongst the
printed numbers along the top
edge of the garment.
Step 3: Take the spine (1b) and
place the bottom Velcro tab on
the appropriate number (2a).
Take the top Velcro tab of the
spine and place it on the
appropriate number (2b).
Adjust the center
spine tab to create a smooth
spine curve (2d).
Note:
There is no one correct spine
shape. The garment may not lay
flat once the spine has been set
(2c). This is to be expected
when dealing with more
extreme spine angles. If there is
a large difference between the
two circumferences, the spine
may not reach both the bottom
and top edges of the body
piece. In this case, center the
spine (2e). When dealing with
more extreme spine angles,
excess material sticking out
beyond the top of the spine
piece can be trimmed (2f).
Step 4:
With the spine in place,
fold over the smaller garment
piece. Cut the excess material
from the body piece leaving
approximately 5 cm of overlap
(3). Be sure not to cut any other
part of the garment.
Note:
If desired, attach the separate
Velcro tabs along the spine for
additional adhesion (4).
Tip:
You may also trace the spine to
easily reattach it in its original
position in the unlikely event of
the spine becoming detached.
