Servicing the inlet and outlet valve
Inlet valve
1.
Use the rod tool to unscrew the suction valve nut
(16), which includes the suction valve seat (13), from
the pump housing.
2. Remove the seating (13), the o-ring (15), the ball (11)
and the ball guide (10) on the suction valve.
3. Clean all of the parts and check for signs of wear or
damage. If necessary, replace the worn parts. The
old O-rings (15) are to be replaced with new O-rings.
NOTE:
The suction valve seat can be reversed.
Piston outlet valve
1.
Place the piston holder in a vice. Slide the piston into
the holder and secure it in place with a 1/4 inch split-
pin.
2. Unscrew the retainer of the outlet valve seat (9) from
the piston by using a 3/8 inch wrench.
3. Remove the seat (8), the O-ring (5), the ball (7) and
the ball guide (6) of the outlet valve.
4. Inspect the ball (7) and seat for signs of wear.
Replace the ball and the seat if necessary.
NOTE:
The outlet valve seat can be reversed.
5. Re-assemble the parts in the following order while
the piston is secured in the holder:
Ball guide (6),
Ball (7),
O-ring (5),
Seat (8) of the outlet valve.
Before re-assembling the retainer of the outlet valve
seat (9), apply two drops of Loctite no. 242 (blue) to the
threads and firmly tighten with a torque of 27 Nm (20 ft/
lbs).
