Disassembling the fluid pump
1.
Loosen and remove the packing nut (2).
2. Push the piston rod (1) through the packing elements
and out of the pump.
3. Now push the packing removal tool through the
pump and remove the packing elements, spacers (4)
and springs from above until the fluid pump housing
(3) is empty.
NOTE:
Make sure that the old packing elements
and rings have been removed from the fluid pump.
4. Clean the inside of the fluid pump housing (3).
5. Disassemble all of the parts and clean them before
re-assembling. Dispose of used packing elements.
Place the metal support ring to one side. Replace the
upper metal support rings with new metal rings from
the packing set.
NOTE:
If the old packing has a metal support ring, discard it
and replace it with a new plastic support ring from the
packing kit.
6. Lubricate the leather packing elements (17, 23) with
light oil 10 minutes prior to re-assembly.
Reassembling the fluid pump
1.
Place the bottom support ring (18) on the flat side.
2. Take three of the lower polyethylene packing ele-
ments (19) and two of the leather V-packing ele-
ments (17) and place these, with the inverted side
facing downwards, onto the support ring (18) in the
following order:
Polyethylene (19)
Leather (17)
Polyethylene (19)
Leather (17)
Polyethylene (19)
3. Take the adapter bushing (20) that is inverted on
both sides and place it on the assembled lower
packing elements.
4. Continue with step 2; when doing this ensure the
inverted side of the packing elements faces upwards.
5. Take the second lower support ring (18) and place
this with the round side facing downward on the top
of the group of packing elements.
6. Take the support ring packing connections (13 pieces)
and insert these onto the lower part of the piston.
7. Take the spacer (4) and insert this over the piston (in
any direction) until it comes into contact with the low-
er packing elements.
8. Take the three spring washers (21) and push them
over the piston in the following order:
first spring - curve facing upwards
second spring - curve facing downwards
third spring - curve facing upwards
9. Take the upper support ring (22) and place this on the
top with the round side facing upward.
10. Take three of the upper polyethylene V-packing ele-
ments (24) and two leather packing elements (23)
and place these, with the inverted side facing down-
wards, onto the support ring (22) in the following
order:
Polyethylene (24)
Leather (23)
Polyethylene (24)
Leather (23)
Polyethylene (24)
11.
Take the top counter ring (25) and place this, with
the inverted side facing downwards, onto the assem-
bled packing elements.
12. Take the connections, which consist of the upper
counter rings and packing elements (7 pieces), and
insert these, with the inverted side facing down-
wards, onto the upper part of the piston.
13. Take the V-packing holder (26) and replace the
white O-ring (27) and the black O-ring (28) with new
O-rings from the packing set.
14. Insert the V-packing holder (26) over the top part of
the upper packing elements so that they fit inside.
15. Lubricate the inside of the fluid pump housing and the
outside of the packing elements with a light oil.
16. Push the entire assembly into the fluid pump housing.
NOTE:
To secure the packing elements in the correct position
you must hold the pump housing upside down and push
the entire assembly upward into the fluid pump housing.
After positioning the assembly in the inside, tilt the pump
housing back to keep all the parts in the inside of the
