Before positioning the patient, make sure all metal items worn have
been taken off such as eyeglasses, movable prosthesis, earrings and any
other removable metal items present at head level. If an apron is used for
protection against radiation, make sure the patient's neck is not covered. If
it is, an area will not be x-rayed.
hyperion has a bite to guide the patient into the correct position. A chin rest
is also available and may be used when needed to increase stability of
uncooperative or edentulous patients. The bite is the only fixed reference
while the chin rest (optional) can slide vertically to adapt to the height of the
patient's chin.
If the patient has front dentition, loosen the knob that blocks the chin rest so
that it moves down then tighten the knob again to block the bite.
Accompany the patient to the unit so that he/she is in front of the bite and
can grasp the large hand grips. The operator and patient will be face to face.

Adjust the height of the motorized column with keys
bite is slightly higher than the patient's occlusal plane. As a result, the patient
will have to stretch to reach the bite helping him/her extend and straighten
his/her neck.
The telescopic column first moves slowly and then speeds up.
Ask the patient to step forward, grasp the hand grips, stretch and bite the
bite. The tip of the upper and lower incisor teeth should be in the slot in
the bite (as shown in figure 1). The interproximal space of the incisor teeth
should be on the median line of the bite.
Close the temple supports. hyperion is equipped with sophisticated temple
supports, that are touch-sensitive. Close the supports from both the right
and left sides making sure the position of the marks coincides with that of
the touch-sensitive sensors, as shown in figure 2. The two supports move
independently which allows for compensation of skull asymmetries.
