Motor leads are securely fastened and
blems
properly mated.
For loose motor brush lead connec-
tions and terminals.
Brushes must be 13 mm minimum.
NOTE: Brushes do not wear at the
same rate on both sides of motor.
Check both brushes.
Broken or misaligned motor brush
springs. Rolled portion of spring must
rest squarely on top of brush.
Motor brushes may be binding in
brush holders.
Motor armature commutator for burn
spots, gouges or extreme roughness.

How to check
Pull the power plug. Replace loose terminals, check
slots, clean if necessary and insert again.
Pull the power cord. Tighten terminal screws. Replace
brushes if leads are damaged.
Pull the power cord. Replace carbon brushes.
Pull the power cord. Replace spring if broken. Realign
spring with brush.
Pull the power cord. Clean brush holders. Check
whether carbon can be correctly installed again in the
right position.
Pull the power cord. Remove motor and have motor
shop resurface commutator if possible.
