4. Filtration module Blue Tower
The outside filtration module Blue Tower can be combined with a glass or acrylic filter sump of
appropriate size.
The system consists of the following components:
- patented prefilter module with drawer, foam and filter floss
- 2 wet dry filters with trickle plate, filled with Aqua Medic Bactoballs

4.2. Description of the system
The water flows out of the aquarium via the overflow chamber - or another overflow device (e. g.
an Aqua Medic Overflow Box) into the prefilter with the drawer. There, the water is cleaned
mechanically. The drawer is filled with a blue filter sponge, covered by white filter floss. Below the
drawer, 2 containers, filled with Bactoballs work as wet dry bio filter. From the Biofilter the water
flows into the sump.
The patented construction of the drawer allows the user to open the drawer and control or change
the filter material without stopping the water flow. When the drawer is opened, no water will splash
on the floor besides the filter sump.
The bottom of the drawer is a trickle plate that ensures an even distribution of the water over the
Biofilter. The bottom of the upper Biofilter container (3) is as well a trickle plate, so the water
distribution to the Bactoballs in the lower container is even as well.
