g) REGISTERED MODE
This selects the operating mode:
ON The cable modem analyser works in registered mode. That is, it is
identified on the network at a logical level.
OFF This establishes the unregistered work mode. That is, it accesses
network parameters only at a physical level.
h) PING NUMBER
This indicates the number of PINGs to transmit, from 0 to 1000.
NOTE: As greater it is the number of PINGs to transmit, greater will be the
transmission time.
i) SEARCH THRESHOLD
It establishes the minimum signal level to detect.
j) NOISE MODE
(Only for digital channels). Noise level measurement mode.
FREQ. (Absolute): The noise level is measured at the frequency defined by
NOISE FREQ.
∆F
(Relative): The value defined by NOISE FREQ is added to the tuning
frequency.
k) NOISE FREQ
(Only for digital channels). Frequency in which the noise level in the C/N
measurement for digital channels is measured.
To exit the SETUP configuration menu and return to the main menu, press the BACK
option from the lower selection box, or the direct main menu access button [13].

4.2.3 MODEM operation mode

The MODEM operation mode provides the following measurements:

- Modulation error ratio (MER) and error rate in digital
signal (BER)
- Constellation diagram graph
- Frequency, channel and active channel plan
- Modulation type and symbol rate
