PING TEST
The PING (Packet Internet Network Groper) function makes it possible to check if there
is another active device or access point available on the network. When the PING
command is run, point-to-point test data packets are transmitted between the
PROMAX-26 acting as the cable modem and another remote access point of the
network that responds to the transmission.
Running this test renders the following information:
PING ADDRESS
This indicates the remote address of the device or access point to check, this field can
be edit. In order to change the PING address, press the key [F5] until it appears
CHANNEL option, then the PING address will appear highlighted out allowing the
field edition using the alphanumeric keyboard.
SEND
This indicates the number of PINGs that have been sent.
RECEIVE
This indicates the number of PINGs that have been received.
PLR
This indicates the proportion of failed test packets.
TIME MIN
This indicates the minimum time in which a test packet has been received.
TIME MAX
This indicates the maximum time in which a test packet has been received.
TIME AVG
This indicates the average time in which the test packets have been received.
