The Sunea 40 RTS DC drive is designed to motorise valances, with three different torque/
speed versions: 3/18, 6/18, 10/12.
As a DC drive, it must be powered by one of the following components :
Sunea 40 RTS DC 3/18, 6/18, 10/12 can be powered by a 12V NiMH battery (see

characteristics chapter 2.2).
In addition, only the version Sunea 40 RTS DC 3/18 can be powered by a 12 VDC regulated
-
power supply . (see characteristics chapter 2.2).

RTS control point and is compatible with RTS Sun sensors.
The Sunea 40 RTS DC motor provides the following features:
Back Impulse to protect the valance.

The motorised product is controlled by a momentary switch (wired or radio technology), (see

the attached Safety instructions document).
When deployed, all parts of the motorised product are more than 2.50 m above ground or

any other permanent access level.
For awnings, the load bar is only moved by gravity, and it weighs less than 15 Kg.

1. 2. LIABILITY
Before installing and using the drive, please read this guide carefully. In addition to following the
instructions given in this guide, the instructions detailed in the attached Safety instructions
document must also be observed.
The drive must be installed by a drive and home automation professional, according to
instructions from Somfy and the regulations applicable in the country in which it is commissioned.

failure to comply with the instructions given in this guide and in the attached Safety instructions
document, absolves Somfy of any liability and invalidates the warranty.
The installer must inform its customers of the operating and maintenance conditions for the
drive and must provide them with the instructions for use and maintenance, and the attached
Safety instructions document, after installing the drive. Any After-Sales Service operation on
the drive must be performed by a drive and home automation professional.
