Sending a call signal

You can summon the attention of the person you are calling by means of
the call signal. Press the call button
the unit called. Remember that call signals will sound on all radios that are
within receiving range and are switched to the same channel and call
code. Now wait until the person called answers.
Setting the call signal
The radio has 10 different call tones.

2. A new call tone between 1 and 10 can now be selected using the

buttons. When the setting is 0, no call signal is transmitted.

Using the headset

The radios can be used with an external microphone and earpiece, a so-
called headset. In this way, you can keep your hands free for other
activities. You will find the connecting socket on the left-hand side
underneath a cover.

Always switch off the radio before connecting the headset. Open the
cover and insert the plug into the socket.

Now switch the radio on again. The loudspeaker and microphone in
the radio are now switched off in headset mode.

Now press the talk button
pressed, the radio will work in VOX mode. You will find further
information on this in Chapter 4.9.
NOTE: Do not connect the headset to the radio when it is switched on. In
this case, the radio will transmit continuously. Remove the headset and
then switch off the radio.
