WARNING!
Disconnect the power supply before installation of elec-
tric/electronic equipment.
IMPORTANT!
The safe distance between magnetic compasses and
electric/electronic equipment is > 0.3 m (1 ft).
Cable installation, general
- Keep cable runs as short as possible to reduce
the risk of a voltage drop and interference.
- Make sure that there is sufficient cable to allow
the unit to be removed for service.
- Do not run cables with sharp bends.

Standard assembly
The tachometer mounts into an Ø86 mm (3.39") hole.
Panel thickness 2–20 mm (0.08-0.80").
Flush assembly
- Flush assembly need other sealing and fixing brackets.
Not included in this kit.
- The tachometer mounts into an Ø75.4 mm (2.97") hole.

Mounting tachometer in instrument panel
1. Remove protective foil from tachometer (2) glass and
mount front ring (1). Fit front ring guide lugs into posi-
tion on tachometer and push it in place (Fig. 2).
2. Place sealing (3) on tachometer.
3. Place upper adapter ring (4) with the flat side towards
sealing.
4. Place tachometer assembly in instrument panel. Fit
the guide lug on upper adapter ring to the notch in the
instrument panel (Fig. 3). Turn panel upside down.
5. Place lower adapter ring (5) on the tachometer and fit
the guide lug on the adapter ring to the notch in the
instrument panel.
6. Screw attaching ring (6) on to tachometer. Control
tachometer display is in parallel with panel baseline.
Fasten tachometer with attachment ring.
Recommended torque: 4 Nm - 8 Nm.

*Recommended external fuse, not included in tachometer or in
instrument panel.
Insulate all unused terminals with tape or similar to
minimize risk of short circuit. Fasten all loose wires and
terminals with tape and/or cable ties to minimize risk of
chafing followed by short circuit. Tape and cable ties are
not included.
Depending on kind of panel, select one option for electri-
cal connections:
Instrument panel with 8-socket connector for
tachometer (Fig. 4a).
1. Connect 8-socket connector (9) on instrument panel to
8-pin connector (8) on tachometer.
(11) and (12) are used with Instrument Panel Extra.
Replacement of tachometer with 4-socket con-
nector (Fig. 4b).
1. Disconnect and remove bulb socket on tachometer if it
is not already performed (blue and black wires).
Connect adapter cables (7):
2. 4-pin connector (14) to mating 4-socket connector on
instrument panel.
