Important!
Cutting the wrong end will render the locking rod unusable: The locking rods
each have a thread on the passive leaf side of the bar. If the thread is cut off, the
locking rod can no longer be mounted on the passive leaf lock. Cut the locking
rod on the end without thread.
Impaired function when the tolerance is exceeded or undercut: If the locking
rod is too short or too long, the passive leaf lock can not work correctly. Observe
the calculated dimensions and tolerance precisely when cutting to size (toler-
ance: ± 1 mm).
2 Cut the locking rods to the calculated length using a hacksaw.
3 Remove sharp edges on the cut edge with some sandpaper or a fine metal file.
 The locking rods are the appropriate lengths and may be installed.

Preparation for mounting

1 Place the door horizontally on an (ideally hip-high) assembly surface.
2 Cut two synthetic wires for the upper and lower locking rods to a length that
is twice the bar length plus approx. 30 cm.

Mounting the passive leaf lock

1 Follow the ASSA ABLOY Easy-Installation steps for mounting ("Figures for
mounting", page 82).
2 Test all functions of the passive leaf lock and the door. Make sure that the
appropriate rebate gap is set (Fig. 3, page 25). The lock must operate
consistently smoothly for all functions. An inconsistent or sluggish movement
of the passive leaf lock can indicate a mounting error or distorted installation
of the lock.
 The passive leaf lock is ready to use.
