Installing the lock

Warning!
Risk of injury and life-threatening danger due to dangerous installation work. The machines and tasks
required for complete installation entail a considerable risk of injury. The cutting and preparations in
wood and metal may only be carried out by skilled, qualified personnel who are trained in the necessary
safety measures for the avoidance of severe injury, particularly when handling milling machines, saws, and
drilling machines.
Unsuitable doors reduce personal safety and intrusion protection: Only approved and technically cor-
rect doors are suitable for installation of the security lock 309N. Prior to the installation of the security lock
309N, the door must be checked to ensure that it is attached properly and is not warped. The door must
be approved for use of the security lock 309N.

Preparation for mounting

1 Create the lock pocket at a suitable mounting position in the door leaf.
2 Finish the holes for the fixing screws (Fig. 17).
3 Finish the holes for the lock fittings.
4 Clean the lock pocket and all drilled holes by blowing them out or vacuuming.
 The lock pocket is now ready for the lock assembly.

Installing the security lock 309N

1 Adjust the closing direction of the control latch
("Adjusting the closing direction of the latch", page 47).
2 Fasten the security lock 309N in the lock pocket.
3 Fasten the lock fittings.
4 Check the security lock 309N for ease of movement.
 Once the striking plate is mounted, the security lock 309N is ready for use.

Mounting the striking plate

1 Finish the striking plate pocket and all holes or finish a customer-provided striking plate
("Production of customer-provided striking plates", page 53).
2 Clean the striking plate pocket and all holes by blowing them out or vacuuming.
3 Screw in the appropriate locking plate for the security lock 309N to be screwed in.
4 Check the security lock 309N for ease of movement.
 The security lock 309N is ready for use
