Always apply clamping tool or
joint at right angles, making sure
it completely contacts entire
surface.
Make sure fitting is correctly
seated in tool. Applying the tool
to the wrong fitting collar will
over-compress the joint!
The tool is equipped with the
REHAU RO expander system. In
order to avoid damage to the
pipe, do not use REHAU RE
(until 1996) expander system
parts with RO expander system
components.
Caution:
Do not touch moving parts (risk
of trapping fingers)!
Always insert expanding tool into
pipe as far as it will go.
Do not tilt the expander.
Never use damaged expander
head as this will damage the
pipe. Replacements are available
from your dealer or from the
REHAU sales office.
If using an expander bit, make
sure that the expander bit is in
the correct position (fully in the
jaws) before starting the tool.
Check that the bits fit (clamping)
before use.
Regularly grease the expanding
tool tapers (tube of lubricant is
supplied with the tool).
Do not grease the tapers too
much to ensure that excess
grease cannot enter the pipe.
Caution:
Do not apply any grease to the
surface of the expanding seg-
ments that come in contact with
the pipe.
