IMPORTANT NOTES
Always apply clamping jaws or
jointing technique at right an-
gles, making sure they complete-
ly contact the entire surface.
Make sure the fitting is correct-
ly positioned in the tool. Applying
the tool to the wrong fitting will
over-compress the joint.
Your tool is equipped with the RE-
HAU QC expander system.
In order to avoid damage to the
pipe, do not use REHAU RE ex-
pander system parts (until 1996)
with QC expander system com-
ponents!
Caution:
Never allow the fitting compo-
nents with a large outer diam-
eter to make contact with the
jaw teeth as this will significant-
ly reduce the contact surface for
compression action.
Always insert the expanding tool
into the pipe up to the stop.
Do not tilt the expanding tool!
Never work with a damaged ex-
pander head as this will damage
the pipe! Your dealer or your
REHAU sales office will immedi-
ately provide you with a replace-
ment.
When using the expanding de-
vice, check to make sure the po-
sition in the clamping jaw and
clamping action of the expanding
device in the clamping jaw are
correct (to avoid falling out) be-
fore using the tool.
Grease the taper of the expand-
er tools regularly (tube of lubri-
cant is supplied with the tool). To
avoid excess grease entering the
pipe, do not grease the taper too
much!
Caution:
Do not grease the expander seg-
ments that are in contact with
the pipe!
!
F itting components with large ex-
ternal diameters must be placed
and compressed on the "free
side".
