Malfunction
Integrated electrical Booster Heater (BOH)
not switched on.
Timer programme settings
Hot water does not heat
up enough.
The power company has sent the high-cost
signal.
Only with external heat generator: External
heat generator has been set with priority over
the heat pump, but cannot deliver adequate
heat supply.
Only with EKHHP 500 with optional external
heat generator: Optional external heat gener-
ator switched in, but cannot guarantee ade-
quate heat delivery.
Incorrect sensor values transmitted to the
controller.
System switched off (nothing on display, oper-
ation LED on)
Draw-off rate too high.
Installation is in standby because of the switch
timer programming
Hot water does not warm
up
Settings for off-peak mains connection do not
correspond to settings for electrical connec-
tions.

Possible cause Possible solution
● Operating mode "ECO" selected, select a different
operating mode, if necessary (e.g. "Automatic", "High
Output").
● Check parameter [4-03], adjust if necessary.
● Check mains supply to booster heater (BOH).
● Thermal protection switch (STB) of the Booster
Heaters (BOH) has triggered. Testing and repair by a
DAIKIN heating expert.
● Check the switching times, provide adequately long
active times.
● Activate the heat retention function to prevent
complete cooling down.
● Increase the heat retention function set value
(Hot water heat pump starts at parameter [0-02] -
Hysteresis).
● Wait for the next low-tariff signal which will switch the
Hot water heat pump to normal operating mode again.
● Check parameter [7-00], adjust if necessary.
● Check settings of external heat generator.
● Check heat delivery by the optional auxiliary heater,
increase if necessary.
● Testing and repair by a DAIKIN heating expert.
● Switch system on (button
● Reduce the draw-off rate, limit throughput.
● Check operating mode, select a different operating
mode, if necessary (e.g. "High Output").
● Check programmed switch times.
● Deactivate switch timer programme.
● HT/LT function is active and the parameter [7-00] is set
incorrectly.
Other configurations are also possible. However, these
must match the type of off-peak mains connection.
● The Smart Grid function is active and the connections
are set incorrectly.
● Have the Hot water heat pump checked by a DAIKIN
heating expert.
● Check heat pump external unit.
● For a short period: activate the emergency stop mode,
[7-02] = 1, Operating mode "Automatic".
● Testing and repair by a DAIKIN heating expert.
