7 Maintenance, Cleaning, Diagnosis
This chapter describes the user maintenance and cleaning
procedures for Gnathometer CAD. Only those tasks are listed
that may be performed by dental professionals. All other
tasks must be performed by qualified service personnel at a
certified Ivoclar Vivadent Service Centre.
7.1 Monitoring and maintenance
The time for these maintenance procedures depends on the
frequency of use and the working habits of the user. For that
reason, the recommended times are only approximations.
7.2 Cleaning
Before disinfection, the Gnathometer must be completely
disassembled.

7.3 Maintenance
Sterilize and/or disinfect the components before the first use
and after every use and/or after contact with saliva or blood.

Avoid any contact with strong acids and solvents
(e.g. MMA, acetone) to prevent damage of the
surfaces.
Use only disinfectants suitable for stainless steel and
light metals.
Avoid any contact with strong acids, brines or solvents.
Clean in an ultrasonic bath, with steam jets or
sterilization devices.
