Composition
The monomer matrix consists of Bis-GMA, urethane
dimethacrylate and triethylene glycol dimethacrylate
(54.2 wt. %). The inorganic fillers are barium glass,
ytterbium trifluoride, Ba-Al-fluorosilicate glass, and
spheroid mixed oxide (43.1 wt. %). Additional contents are
catalysts, stabilizers, and pigments (2.7 wt. %). The total
content of inorganic fillers is 23.2 vol. %, with a particle
size that ranges between 0.04 and 3.0 µm. The mean
particle size is 0.7 µm.
Indication
Masking of exposed metal surfaces during the intraoral
repair of defective ceramic and composite veneers.
Contraindication
–
if a dry working field cannot be established; if the
stipulated technique cannot be applied, or
–
if the patient is known to be allergic to any of the
ingredients of Monopaque.
Side effects
In individual cases, components of Monopaque may lead to

Other interactions
Phenolic substances (e.g. eugenol) may inhibit polymeriza-
tion. Therefore, materials containing these substances
should not be used in combination with Monopaque.
