TRIAL PACKING
LUCITONE 199 Resin does not require
trial packing except in extra-thick cases.
However, trial packing may be employed if
the operator desires. The flask should be
closed slowly in all cases.
Close flask slowly
If the no trial packing technique is
employed, it is essential that a sufficient
amount of material be used to assure a
full mould. Excess resin squeezing out of
the complete periphery of the two halves
of the flask during closure is a good
indication of sufficient volume of material.
WORK TImE
The time of LUCITONE 199 Resin is
approximately 10 minutes. Never pack
after work time has elapsed or material
has become rubbery.
CURING
Submerge closed flask (locked by
compress or spring clamp) in water at
163° ± 2°F (73°C ± 1°C) for 1

periodic check of water bath temperature
with an accurate thermometer is
recommended. Alternate cure: 9 hours
in water bath at 163° ± 2°F (73°C ± 1°C).
Follow by 1⁄2 hour in boiling water.
CURING OF EXTREmELY
THICK CASES
Extremely thick cases require special
handling to prevent porosity and excessive
surface shrinkage. The following procedure
should be employed:
1.
Pack material when it reaches a heavy,
putty-like consistency (approx. 12
minutes at 73° ± 2°F (23°C ± 1°C).
2. Condense well during packing by
closing flask slowly and trial packing at
least 3 times.
3. Closed flask should remain under
pres sure for 30 minutes prior to
curing.
4. Use alternate cure method as
specified.
COOLING
Bench cool the clamped flask at room
temperature for 30 minutes. Then immerse
in cool water (60-80°F (16-27°C) for 15
minutes before deflasking.
4
hours.
