Important:

Make sure that the container lid is firmly pressed around the container. Then,
slowly push the air extraction hose as far as possible into the openings on the
lid and on the appliance so that no air can get into the container.
To check if there is enough vacuum pressure in the container, try to move the
lid a little. If it cannot be moved then the vacuum pressure is perfect.

F UN C TI O N MARINAT E (G )
Marinating using the marinate function is best suited with meat or fish, to spice and
allow it to tenderise. Thanks to the Solis VertiVac Plus marinate-function, you can
quickly marinate meat or fish effectively, in just a few minutes, since the vacuum
allows the marinade to penetrate deeper into the food. The vacuum function main-
tains a vacuum for several minutes, then releases air, allowing the food to 'rest' for
several seconds. This process will be repeated several times – you will see how well
the fish or meat absorbs the marinade. The whole marinating process takes only a
few minutes.
Prick the meat / poultry / fish a few times with a fork.
Place the meat / fish in the square Solis container (1.0
or 2.8 L). Cover the meat / fish with the marinade and
leave at least 3 cm distance between the food and the
upper edge of the container. Close the container with
the correct lid (see Fig. 20).
Take the air extraction hose, which is included with
the appliance resp. the Solis container set. Plug one
end of the hose into the air extraction port (3) of
the appliance and the other end into the opening on
the container lid (see Fig. 21).
Adjust the extraction speed to the foods in the con-
tainer with the Vacuum (I) button: Normal for robust
foods, Gentle for pressure sensitive foods. The corre-
sponding control light illuminates.
Touch the Marinate (G) button, the marinating process begins and lasts a few
minutes. The appliance will switch off automatically after the last marinating
cycle is completed. You can follow the progress with the progress indicator (D).
Wait for the button surrounds and the progress indicator (D) to go out and the
signal to sound, then the process is completed.
Remove the air extraction hose (10), first from the container, then from the
appliance.

If you wish to end the marinating process early, simply touch the Cancel (B) button.
If you wish to start the marinating process again, simply press the Marinate (G)
button once more and the marinating process will start again.
Note: Always ensure that the seal of the lid and the edge of the containers are
completely clean and dry.
To open the lid of the container, press the button right beside the air extrac-
tion opening, so that the vacu um pressure is released. You will hear a slight
hissing sound as the air passes back into the container. This hiss guarantees that
there was an air vacuum in the container.

AIR CUSHION: PULSE BLOW FUNCTION (L)
If you want to make air cushions, e.g. to make packaging material for pressure
sensitive or fragile items, you can use the Pulse Blow function to do that.
1. Place one bag end in the vacuum bay. Caution: The bag end has to be pushed
all the way into the bay.
2. Touch the Pulse Blow (L) button. The blue Pulse Blow button surround lights
up. The bag end is now locked into the vacuum bay and the inflation process
starts. The pump blows air into the bag for as long as you touch the Pulse Blow
button.
Note: The standard setting for the Pulse Blow function is the Single weld. Even
if the Double weld is preset, the appliance automatically switches back to Single
once the Pulse Blow button is touched.
3. When the bag is sufficiently filled with air, let go of the Pulse Blow button and

briefly touch the Manual Seal (E) button to start the welding process. You can
follow the progression with the progress indicator (D). Wait for the button sur-

round and the progress indicator to go out and the signal to sound. The process
has completed.
4. Double check the new weld to make sure it is straight and without creases.
Should this not be the case, repeat the process after cutting off the old weld.
Note: The Pulse Blow function stops after 90 seconds, automatically starting the
welding process, even if you keep the button pressed.
