1. INTRODUCTION
This manual describes the use of the possible Medea system control devices.
The main interactions with the Medea system may be conditioned by the security level of the alarm system defined
according to EN50131-1.
2. KP710D and KP710DP KEYPADS

2.1 About the display and LEDs
The display in stand-by mode can show the SYSTEM STATUS, DATE and TIME according to the control panel settings.
The LEDs on the display indicate system state and any alarms. The amount of information displayed depends on the
system status (armed or disarmed) and the set use mode.
IMPORTANT Only use mode 3 set in the control panel guarantees safety level 3 according to EN50131.
2.2 User codes
User codes are needed to arm and disarm the system, view the system status, read the event history and change
codes. Up to 50/150/200 user codes can be stored according to the control panel model.
The default codes are:
Control panel
User code numbers
model
MEDEA/32
MEDEA/64
MEDEA/160
User codes can be freely set to 4, 5 or 6 digits.
IMPORTANT Codes shorter than 6 digits do not guarantee security level 3 according to EN50131.
It is recommended that you change your user code the first time you use it.
2.3 Master code
The Master code is the only one to be always enabled. It allows access to the User Menu and the menu to enable
other users, keys, radio controls and automatic time programmer commands. In addition to performing the operations
permitted to user codes, the Master code can be used to view the system status, read the event history, modify the
configurations that can be performed by the user and enable access to the Technician (installer).
The default setting of the Master code is 111111. It is suggested to change this code at first use.
More details on the functions that can be performed with a Master code are available in the MEDEA control panel
programming manual.
2.4 Hold-up code
The hold-up code, if enabled during control panel configuration, can be used to generate a silent alarm (sirens do not
sound) if the user is forced to disarm the system under threat. Upon activation, a request for help is generated accor-
ding on the configured mode, without being detected.
The hold-up codes are set by default but can be changed by setting codes of at least 4 digits.
IMPORTANT
Security level 3 of EN50131 does not include hold-up code enabling.
