Windows Device Driver Errors

This section provides Event Log information and helps you to resolve issues
that may occur during a new system or existing system Windows device
driver installation.
Problem
Event ID 9
Event ID 11
Event ID 15
Suggested Solution
Source: SCSI miniport driver
Description: The device, device\scsiport1, did not
respond within the timeout period. This error
indicates the device had an I/O timeout when an
application is trying to read or write data to a device
attached to the SCSI controller.
Solution:
• Increase the time-out value in the SCSI
configuration utility.
• Disable domain validation according to the
instructions provided for each Windows operating
system.

Description: The driver detected a controller error.
This error indicates a bad or corrupted device driver of
hardware failure.
Solution:
• Check the version of the Fusion-MPT SCSI BIOS
and update it, if possible.
• Check the SCSI device driver version,
%systemroot%\System32\drivers, check the driver
properties and update the driver to a newer version,
if possible.
• Go to www.dell.com\support for driver and BIOS
updates.

for access yet. This error indicates a device is not ready.
Solution:
• Usually, this error indicates improper termination
or cabling on the SCSI bus. Adhere to Ultra320
SCSI cabling and termination specifications.
• This error could also indicate a malfunctioning
device.
