monitoring path.
The monitoring slider controls the hardware monitoring level (ASIO direct
monitoring) but does not control the software monitoring. Its default
position is in front of the bold dot. It can be set independently for each
channel. This is directly controlled from the host application using its
monitoring mixer.
Time Error Compensation
Audio data transfer may suffer from buffer underrun, in most cases due to
temporary CPU overload.
To avoid the loss of synchronization between input and output signals,

HOW TO CHECK THE INSTALLATION

HOW TO CHECK THE INSTALLATION
HOW TO CHECK THE INSTALLATION
Is the card properly installed under MacOS?
Double click on the VXpocket 440 icon. This launches the VX Control
panel. It should display the card and its serial number, and it should be
possible to change the sampling frequency.
You can also check that the inputs and outputs of the card are displayed in
control panel: sound.
Is the card properly installed under Windows?
The inputs and outputs of the card should be selectable from control
panel, multimedia (or sound & multimedia, or sound, depending on the
Windows version), and system sounds can be played from here.
The VXpocket 440 channels, through the wave driver, are named:
- VXpocket 440 out #1 and VXpocket 440 out #2 for the outputs.
- VXpocket 440 in #1 and VXpocket 440 in #2 for the inputs.
The VXpocket 440 channels, through the DirectSound driver, are named:
- VXpocket440 audio card stereo1 and VXpocket440 audio card stereo2 for the
outputs.
- the inputs are not available through DirectSound under Windows 2000
and XP.
If only the DirectSound channels are displayed, this means the wave driver
has not been installed properly (which is not a problem if you don't need
to use the wave driver).
