4. Brief description

Resistance thermometers, thermo-couples, resistance
sensors, potentiometers or DC current or voltage sources
are connected to the programmable universal transmitter
SIRAX V 644 which then converts the corresponding input
signals into impressed current or voltage output signals.
Explosion-proof "intrinsically safe" [EEx
approved for processing measured variables in explosion
hazard zones rounds off this series of transmitters.
The transmitter SIRAX V 644 fulfils the protection requirements
according to the EMC guideline (89/336/EWG). The device
bears the CE symbol for EMC.
Measured variables and measuring ranges are program-
med with the aid of a PC, a programming cable and the
programming software. Specific measured variable data
such as output signal, transmission characteristics, active
direction and open-circuit sensor supervision data can also
be programmed.
Transmitters supplied ex stock are configured as follows:
– Measuring input
– Measuring output
– Setting time
(7)
– Break monitoring
– Mains ripple suppression
