Visual inspection
Inspect all components. Check in particular for possible
damage (e.g. deformation, adhesion, contamination or
cracks). Replace faulty or damaged parts immediately.
Preparation of test
1. Seal the connections for protective suits with ventilation
unit.
2. Close the fastener system.
3. Spread out the chemical protective suit on its front on a
clean and flat surface.
4. Protect the visor with a soft underlay in order to avoid
scratches.
5. Unfasten the protective caps from both suit valves and
remove the valve discs.
6. Attach the test cap with the grey hose to a suit valve and
connect it to the test unit with the mouth adapter.
7. Attach the test cap with the black hose to the other suit
valve.
8. Make sure that both valves are closed at the black hose.
9. Connec t the black hose to the medium-pressure outlet of
the test unit.
10. Connect test unit to medium pressure.
Check the seal on the chemical protective suit
1. Open the exhaust valve on the black hose and fill the
chemical protective suit until the test unit shows 17.5 mbar.
Close exhaust valve.
2. Set a settling time of 10 minutes and start the stopwatch.
During this time, keep the pressure at approx. 17 mbar to
enable a pressure and temperature compensation.
If necessary, regulate the air with the applicable control
lever (+ or -).
3. Pull right control lever to reduce the pressure to 16.5 mbar.
4. Start test time of 6 minutes on the timer.
5. Read off the pressure at the end of the test time.
The pressure drop must not exceed 3 mbar.
Testing suit valve
1. Disconnect black hose from the protective suit and
test unit.
2. Disconnect the test cap with the grey hose from the
suit valve. Attach the mouth adapter to the test unit with
the hose.
3. Moisten valve disc with plain water and attach.
4. Attach the test cap with the grey hose to the suit valve.
5. Press left control lever to generate a positive pressure of
approx. +12 mbar.
6. Pull left control lever to generate a positive pressure of
approx. +10 mbar.
7. Start test time of 1 minute on the timer.
8. Read off the pressure at the end of the test time.
The pressure difference must not exceed ±1 mbar.
9. Check the next suit valve.
10. Disassemble test setup.
11. Fit the protective caps onto the suit valves.
