Introduction

Caution!
Never use any auxiliaries or tools to fit or remove the tow ball. This could damage the locking
mechanism of the tow ball, so that safe use of the towing device is no longer guaranteed.
Fitting or removing the tow ball is possible with normal manual force.
Operating instructions:
• Carefully read these operating instructions before using the towing device.
• Do not alter or repair the tow ball or the receiver.
• In case of handling problems or irregularities contact your authorized workshop.
• Before driving check that the tow ball is correctly locked.
• Drive only with the lock in locked condition and with the key removed.
• Never unlock the tow ball with a coupled trailer.

2.1

Preparing the mounting of the tow ball

Before using the tow ball for the first time make sure to note
down the number engraved on the key:

Remove cover on bumper, if present (see Owner's Manual).

The mounting points for the tow ball and the socket are located below
the bumper.
The detachable tow ball is housed either in the spare wheel nave or in
a side pocket in the luggage compartment where it is kept in place by
a device specially provided for this purpose.
