Preparation for use

5.1
General
Check the equipment for completeness and damage. Do not use the equipment if it is damaged; in that
case contact the Holmatro dealer.
WARNING
Make sure you are up to date on all safety regulations and that you have mastered the use
of all equipment of the system you are going to work with.
5.2

Installation of the system

5.2.1
Install the tracks, beams and push/pull units
See Fig. 3 and Fig. 4.
At least two tracks must be laid out. The tracks are to be laid on a horizontal and level surface.
Check if the surface is resistant to the expected surface pressure.
Lay the tracks parallel to each other.
Insert four skid pads per track.
Check if the skid pads properly cover the cams of the tracks.
NOTE
Each skid pad must include ten skid pad discs. Apply undiluted washing-up liquid to the skid
pad discs in order to reduce the friction on the discs. Never use corrosive agents.
Connect the tracks using the track connecting pin and the safety pin.
Position the required beams in the tracks and connect them using the beam to beam coupler.
Position the required push/pull units in the tracks and connect them to the beams using the beam to
push/pull unit coupler, the beam to cylinder push/pull unit coupling pin and the safety pin.
5.2.2

Connect the hydraulic hoses

WARNING
Do not try to connect or disconnect hydraulic couplers when the equipment is in use or under
pressure.
WARNING
Never use damaged couplers.
CAUTION
Never use pliers or similar to connect the hydraulic couplers.
5.2.3
Connect the High-Flow couplers
The High-Flow coupler is a screw-on coupler used on a single or duo-hose system.
In case of duo hoses, the supply hose and the return hose are bundled together with ties. Each end of
both hoses has the same coupler: female and male couplers.
If you want to connect or disconnect a tool and/or a hose, you must first set the pressure relief valve on
the pump to the open (0) position. After connecting the hose(s) and the tool you must set the pressure
relief valve to the closed (1) position so you can use the tool.
