See Fig. 5.
WARNING
Always make sure that the pressure relief valve is in the open (0) position, before you
connect hydraulic hose(s) to the pump.
•
Remove the dust caps from the female and male couplers.
•
Check the couplers for dirt and damage and clean them if necessary.
•
Screw the male coupler into the female coupler and tighten the locking ring as far as possible.
•
Screw the dust caps together, to prevent contamination.
5.2.4
Release the pressure in unconnected hoses or tools
General
Temperature differences can cause overpressure in unconnected hoses and tools. This overpressure
can make it impossible to connect the parts. You can use the pressure relief tool to remove this
overpressure. This accessory is available for all Holmatro hose systems and is supplied by default with
every pump.
NOTE
We recommend you keep more than one of these tools on hand.
See Fig. 7.
•
Turn the knob of the pressure relief tool counterclockwise to make room for the coupler.
•
Press the pressure relief tool on to the coupler of the hose or tool and screw the tool and the coupler
together.
•
Wrap a cloth around the pressure relief tool, leave the knob free to operate.
WARNING
Make sure the cloth covers the oil openings, because a cloud of oil may appear without a
cloth.
•
Turn the knob clockwise to release the pressure. Some oil will be released.
•
Turn the knob counterclockwise and remove the pressure relief tool from the coupler.
5.2.5
Prepare the system for use
•
Make sure that all items have been installed and connected as described.
•
Make sure that there is no dirt in or on the parts.
•
Connect the hydraulic hoses to the push/pull units as described.
•
Make sure that all push pawls of the push/pull units are pointing in the required moving direction.
•
Check the operation of the system by making one pushing and one pulling movement with unloaded
beams.
CAUTION
Allow for a minimum support length of 250 mm for the load across the full width of the beam
for every 100 tons of the load's weight.
Place the load on the beam as centrally as possible.
