Slings
Multi Sling
The Multi Sling has four lifting straps: two at
the front and two at the back of the chest belt.
The pictures show two-point suspension, but
the Multi Sling is also approved for three- and
four-point suspension. Please note that patients
must have partial use of their legs in order to be
able to use the Multi Sling.
Personal hygiene, dressing and undressing
1.
Start by passing the elasticated waist belt
(accessory) through the loops inside the
chest belt. Put the belt round the patient's
waist and tighten the waist belt. Fasten the
chest belt. You can do this when the pa-
tient is lying down or sitting. The more you
tighten the waist belt, the better the sling
will sit in place when lifting the patient.
2.
Attach the rear lifting straps to the lift bar.
When you start lifting the patient, he/she
will begin leaning forward slightly. The
process is easier if the patient can hold on
to something for stability and to enable
him/her to help with the lifting process.
Most often it is enough to lift the patient
between 10 and 30 cm to dress or undress
him/her. Make sure that the patient is
stable while being lifted.
3.
Because all four straps are being used, the
patient will be in a more upright position.
Please note that the more weight that is
supported by the lifting straps, the greater
the risk that the chest belt will slide up.
