9. Operation
Using the headphones / pre-listening:
Before plugging in or putting on the headphones, switch the mixer on or off and always turn the headphone volume to the minimum
(turn PFL LEVEL control (5) to position "MIN") first. Increase the volume to a level that is comfortable for you only after you have
put the headphones on.
1. Plug the headphones into the headphone jack HEADPHONES (11).
2. Use the PFL ASSIGN switch (7) to determine whether you hear the signal from channel CH1 or channel CH2.
3. You can listen to the input signal without it being reproduced on the connected amplifier. This will enable you, for example in cross-fading/
mixing, to find the correct starting point.
Cross-fading (CROSSFADER)
1. Use the CROSSFADER (9) to cross-fade between the signals of channels CH1 and CH2.
2. One channel is faded out by operating the CROSS-FADER (becomes quieter), while the other channel is faded in (becomes louder).
3. In the central position, both channels are reproduced equally.
Setting the microphone
1. Set the MIC-LEVEL control (4) to the left stop position "MIN".
2. Speak into the microphone.
3. Slowly increase the volume of the microphone by turning the MIC LEVEL control (4) in a clockwise direction until the desired level is reached.
4. The microphone signal is not influenced by the channel fader.
10. Troubleshooting

Problem
Device does not work after the on/off
POWER switch (1) has been switched
on. The power light does not light up.
The operating display lights up but no
sound can be heard.
No signal can be heard although the
level display indicates a signal.
Buzzing can be heard.
A channel does not function.
Sound is distorted.
Possible cause
• The plug-in power unit has not been inserted
correctly in the socket or the plug-in power unit
has not been inserted correctly in the mixer.
• The mains socket is not supplied with current.
• No input signal, input level is set incorrectly.
• TRIM input signal control is in position "0".
• Downstream device (amplifier) not switched on
or set incorrectly.
• Output connected incorrectly or not at all.
• In/output level set incorrectly.
• No earth connection between the devices.
• A cable is defective.
• Connection cable has come out.
• The balance control on the amplifier is set
incorrectly.
• Mixer output is set incorrectly or the connected
amplifier is overmodulated.
• Connected device does not comply with the
required specifications for a cinch connection
or does not have the appropriate connections.
• The GAIN control is set incorrectly, the mixer is
overmodulated.
How to solve the problem
• Plug-in power unit correct.
• Have mains socket checked by an electrician.
• Check signal source.
• Set level with TRIM input signal control (2) as
described.
• Check downstream device, select correct input
on the amplifier.
• Connect output as described.
• Set in/output level as described.
• Make an earth connection between the devices
via the screw terminal GND (16).
• Replace cable.
• Check connections between the devices.
• Set the balance control on the amplifier.
• Set mixer output as described.
• Use device with appropriate level and
connection.
• Set mixer input as described.
