ReadyBelt
ReadyBelt is a belt that is designed to provide the user with support and help during mobility training and different
transfer situations. With ReadyBelt, the caregiver can easily and in an ergonomically correct manner assist the user
during rising and during transfers, for example, between bed and wheelchair and between wheelchair and toilet or car.
Several ergonomically designed handles provide the caregiver with a secure grip, allowing the ideal working stance in
every situation. ReadyBelt is not to be used as an assistive device for lifting.
ReadyBelt is available in different sizes and can therefore be used with most users. The belt is placed around the user's
waist or hips and secured in place with a clasp which is very easy to open, close and tighten. ReadyBelt is soft and
comfortable for the user to wear and a non-slip surface on the inside of the belt prevents it from sliding up.
Functional inspection
Visual inspection
Check the condition and function of the assistive device regularly. Always inspect the product after laundering. Check
to ensure that seams and material are free from damage. Check to ensure that fabric is not worn or faded. If there are
signs of wear, the product must be discarded.
Mechanical load
Test the friction of the material by pressing it against the underlying
surface and rolling it back and forth (1). Note whether it still glides as
easily as it did. Compare with a new product if possible.
Pull on the handles to check seams and strength (2).
Always read the manual
Always read the manuals for all assistive devices used during a transfer.
Keep the manual where it is accessible to users of the product.
Do not leave the patient unattended during a transfer situation.
Placement of ReadyBelt
1. Apply the belt around the patient, below the waist but above the hips.
2. Fasten the belt and tighten it.
