Before putting the steam humidifier into operation check:
- the unit and installations for damage.
- the water installations additionally for tightness.
Warning! Damaged units or units with leaky/damaged installations (electrical,
water, steam) must on no account be put into operation.
The following procedure should be adopted to put the steam humidifier into
operation:

1. Connect humidifier to the mains supplies (control unit and power unit): Set all
service switches to position "I".
2. Open filter valve.
3. Press main switch (<I/O> key) to switch on the steam humidifier. Main switch
lights.
The Defensor Mk4 then performs a system test (both signal lamps light for
approx. 3 seconds). If a fault is detected during the system test, a corresponding
fault message is supplied.
If the system test is completed successfully, the steam cylinder is filled and a float
test then performed (functional test of level unit).
Note: If a fault is detected during the float test, a corresponding fault message is
given.
If the float test is completed successfully, the Defensor Mk4 is ready for operation.
If the humidity regulator detects that humidification is necessary, steam production
is started and the green steam production indicator lights.
