Figure 3
If there are considerable differences in withers height among the herd (i.e. more than 20 cm), the machine
should be mounted slightly higher in order to avoid excessive brush wear.
Occupational safety during mounting:
• the machine must always be secured against falling or toppling over while being installed - risk of fatal injury!!! –>
Place a retaining strap around the rod end and secure with a lifting device.
• first mount the base plate securely to ensure fast and secure attachment of the brush head.
• during installation and especially before commissioning, never reach inside the machine (behind the safety panels).
The customer must protect the cables from the motor and sensor to the control box against chew-
ing / biting (as required).
3.4. Electrical connection
The voltage and frequency must be 230 V / 50 Hz. A 16A alternating current socket and a 16A alternating current
plug must be installed to connect the machine and this must only be done by a licensed electrical company. This
must be installed out of the animals' reach (above the machine). The manufacturer accepts no responsibility and
offers no guarantee for any damage caused by connections not set up by trained professionals. Before commissio-
ning, the machine must be conductively connected to the pen installation's potential equalisation system. Local
safety and earthing requirements must be observed. Ask your electrician!
The machine must be separately protected with a 16A fuse! If the machine is fuse-protected with
one or more large consumers, functional faults and damage can occur to the electronics!
4. Operation
4.1 Switching on
Once the power supply is connected, the machine is ready for operation after around 20 seconds.
The machine indicates its readiness for operation by displaying a flashing dot on the circuit board (not
visible from the outside).
4.2 Function
The motor is activated by lifting the brush, as the sensor detects the resting position of the brush unit. When the
brush unit leaves the rest position, the brushes start to rotate for the set cycle time (factory setting 60 sec.).
