5. Periodic maintenance and cleaning
The unit must only be operated when in perfect condition!
Immediately shut down the unit as soon as any damage or malfunction is detected!
Caution!
Risk of physical injury to people and animals and material damage!
• Maintenance and cleaning work must only be carried out by trained personnel.
• Keep all safety and warning notices on/at the unit in a legible condition at all times.
• When changing the slide bearings, always secure the motor suspension including the brush against falling down or sagging using suitable
lifting gear. Risk of injury!
• When changing brushes: the brush falls down if the screw is loosened completely.
5.1 Overview of maintenance schedule
5.2 Visual inspection of mechanical safety technology
• Daily inspection of the unit for externally visible damage and general functionality.
5.3 Screw connections
Check all screw connections weekly to ensure they are tight, especially the securing of the unit to the wall. Tighten the screw connections if neces-
sary.
5.4 Brushes
The brushes (Fig. 13 - item 4) must be changed once they have worn down and exhibit only inadequate cleaning performance on the animals.
5.4.1 Changing the brushes
1. Loosen the screw under the brush.
2. Remove the brush and replace it with a new one.
3. Apply threadlocker to screw, retighten with the washer and spring washer.
5.4.2 Brush cleaning
We recommend that the brush element should be cleaned every 6 weeks with a suitable disinfectant.
(For example INTERKOKASK® disinfectant #299698 from Albert Kerbl GmbH)
5.5 Entire unit
The entire unit must be cleaned on a regular basis.
