knob.
The sweatband can be washed or if necessary
replaced.
2. Eye distance and inclination. The distance
between the cartridge and the eyes can be optimized
by loosening the locking knobs (2A)and adjusting the
distance. The setting should be identical on both sides
to exclude tilting. After this adjustment tighten the
locking knobs again.
The inclination of the helmet may be adjusted using the
knob 2B.
3. Shade level. The shade level can be adjusted by
turning the knob (3A).
The shade can be adjusted between shade level DIN
5 to DIN 9 (switch in the down position)or DIN 9 to DIN
13 (switch in up position)as a function of the shade
range switch (3B).
4. Grinding mode. By pressing on the inner part of
the shade level knob the cartridge is put into the
grinding mode.In this mode the cartridge is
deactivated and stays at shade level 4.This mode is
indicated to the welder by a red blinking LED on the
inside of the helmet.Make sure to press the button
again to put the cartridge in the welding mode before
you begin to weld. The mode will be changed
automatically from grinding to welding after 10 minutes.
Warning:failure to reset the autodarkening filter (ADF)
could lead to serious injury or blindness.
5. Sensitivity. The sensitivity knob allows for an
adjustment of the detection system of the welding filter.
The yellow point on the marking represents a sensitiv-
ity for most applications.Adjust clockwise to increase
sensitivity and counterclock wise to decrease
sensitivity.
6. Sensor slide. The sensor slide on the front part of
the cartridge may be on top or above the sensors to
reduce the opening angle of the detectors. When in the
bottom position, the sensor slide valve reduces the
sensor aperture to 60 degrees and with that external
field influence.
7. Delay switch. This switch allows an adjustment of
the reaction time of the filter to become bright again.
«Fast » stands for a delay of 0.1—0.35s and is
recommended for short welding processes.
«Slow » stands for a delay of 0.3—0.6s and is
recommended for long welding processes and pulse
techniques.
