INSTALLATION
NOTICE:
Note the following when installing
threaded pipes:
• The threaded pipes must be screwed into each
other leak-tight and firmly. To achieve this, wrap
the threaded pin with hemp or Teflon tape.
• When screwing in the pipes, make sure that the
pipes are aligned (not cross-threaded) to ensure
that the thread is not damaged.
• Note the submersible pump's direction of rota-
tion and use suitable threaded pipes (right-hand
or left-hand thread) so that the pipes do not
loosen during operation.
• The threaded pipes must be secured against
accidental loosening.
• The support clamp which is required as a
support during installation, is always mounted
directly below the connection points. Whilst
doing so, tighten the turnbuckles evenly until
the clamp is tight against the pipe (the halves of
the support clamp must not touch!).
Metallic pressure pipes must be integrated
into the potential equalisation according to the
locally applicable regulations and the accepted
rules of technology:
• As external pressure switching can have an insu-
lating effect, depending on the design, make
sure that the piping – before and after the ex-
ternal pressure switching – as well as the pump
unit is integrated into the potential equalisation.
• Note the large area impedance connection of
the contacts!
1.
Lay two scantlings over the well.
The support clamps will be placed on these
subsequently, therefore, the scantlings must have
sufficient load bearing capacity. In narrow well
shafts, a centring device must be used because
the product must not come into contact with the
walls of the well.
2.
Extend the power supply cable connected at the
factory to the necessary length, in accordance
with the space available in the borehole. To do
this, use heat-shrink tubing or a cast resin con-
nection for the required length.
3.
Place the submersible pump vertically and secure
it against slipping and falling over.
4.
Screw the mounting bracket to the first segment
of the pipe, hook the hoisting gear onto the
mounting bracket and lift the first pipe.
5.
Screw in the free end of the ascending pipe on
the pressure port of the submersible pump and
tighten.
6.
Attach the cable to the first pipe just above the
discharge port using a cable clip.
7.
Lift the unit with the pipe, swing it over the well
and lower it until the support clamp on the as-
cending pipe can be loosely attached. While doing
this make sure that the cable is kept away from
the support clamp on the ascending pipe so that
it is not crushed.
8.
Continue to lower the unit until the upper thread-
ed rod protrudes 10 – 15 cm above the support
clamp.

9.
Tighten the support clamp.
10. Lower the system until the support bracket is
resting on the scantlings laid out ready for sup-
port.
11. Release the mounting bracket from the pipe and
attach it to the next ascending pipe.
12. Lift the pipe, swing it over the well and screw the
free end into the ascending pipe and tighten.
WARNING: danger of crushing!
When removing the support clamp, the entire
weight rests on the hoisting gear and the pipe
sags down. This can result in severe crushing!
Before removing the support clamp, ensure
that the hoisting gear retaining cable is under
tension!
13. Remove the support clamp and briefly attach
the cable above and below the pipe adaptor with
a cable clip. It is practical to fix the cable to the
ascending pipe every 2 – 3 m with a cable clip.
Where there are several cables, each cable must
be secured individually.
14. Repeat steps 7 – 13 until the ascending pipe is
installed at the desired depth.
15. Mount the well cover on the last pipe.
16. Secure the well cover tightly.
Installation of flexible piping
The pump can also be used with flexible piping
(e.g. hoses). In this case, the piping is fitted to the
pressure connection and then lowered into the
borehole together with the pump.
Note:
• Nylon or stainless steel guys are used to lower the
pump.
• The guy must have sufficient bearing capacity for
the complete system (pump, piping, cable, water
column).
• The guy must be fastened to the attachment
points (eyelets) provided on the pressure port
for that purpose. If these suspension points are
not available, an intermediate flange containing
attachment points must be installed.
DANGER due to improper fixation!
The guy must not be wound around the pres-
sure port or affixed to the piping. This could
result in slipping or the piping might become
separated. There is an increased risk of injury!
• Always use suitable lifting equipment and
secure parts against falling.
• Ensure that the retaining cable is in perfect
condition and does not display signs of kink-
ing.
• Always fasten the retaining cable to the pre-
scribed attachment points!
• Never stand underneath a suspended load.
• Make sure the pump and lifting equipment is
securely positioned and stable during storage
and transport as well as prior to all installation
and other assembly work.
