Instructions for Use
Description
The Ceramic Repair N System Kit is a set of various
components for the intraoral repair of defective ceramic-
and composite-veneered fixed restorations. All-ceramic
restorations can also be repaired with the Ceramic Repair
N System Kit.
Composition
The Ceramic Repair N System Kit consists of the follow-
ing components:
Tetric
N-Ceram – a light-curing nano-hybrid
®
composite
The monomer matrix is composed of dimethacrylates
(19–20 wt%). The fillers contain barium glass, ytterbium
trifluoride, mixed oxide and prepolymer (80–81 wt%).
Additional contents are additives, initiators, stabilizers
and pigments (<1.0 wt%). The total content of inorganic
fillers is 55–57 vol.%. The particle size of inorganic fillers
is between 40 nm and 3.000 nm.
IPS Empress
Direct Opaque – a light-curing
®
opaquer suitable for masking exposed metal
surfaces
The monomer matrix is composed of dimethacrylates
(53.9 wt%). The inorganic fillers include barium glass,
ytterbium trifluoride, Ba-Al-fluorosilicate glass and sphe-
roid mixed oxide (43.4 wt%). Initiators, stabilizers and
pigments are additional contents (2.7 wt%).
The total content of inorganic fillers is 23.2 vol% and
the particle size ranges from 0.04 to 3.0 μm. The mean
particle size is 0.7 μm.
Monobond
N – a primer designed for
®
establishing an adhesive bond between luting
composites and all indirect restorative materials
Alcohol solution of silane methacrylate, phosphoric acid
methacrylate and sulphide methacrylate.
Heliobond – a light-curing bonding agent
Heliobond consists of Bis-GMA and tri-ethylene glycol
dimethacrylate (99 wt.%), initiators and stabilizers
(<1%).

Indication
Intraoral repair of defective ceramic- and composite-
veneered fixed restorations.
Contraindications
Use is contraindicated
– if a dry working field cannot be established or the
prescribed application technique cannot be applied;
– if a patient is known to be allergic to any of the ingre-
dients of Tetric N-Ceram, IPS Empress Direct Opaque,
Monobond N and Heliobond.
Side effects
In rare cases, components of Tetric N-Ceram, IPS Empress
Direct Opaque, Heliobond and Monobond N may lead
to sensitization. The product should not be used in such
cases.
Interactions
Tetric N-Ceram / IPS Empress Direct Opaque /
Heliobond
Phenolic substances such as eugenol / clove oil and win-
tergreen oil inhibit the polymerization of materials based
on methacrylate. Materials containing such substances
must not be used in conjunction with Tetric N-Ceram,
IPS Empress Direct Opaque and Heliobond.
Discolouration may occur in combination with cationic
mouthwashes, plaque disclosing agents and chlorhex-
idine.
Monobond N
Contamination of the fracture surfaces with saliva, blood
or water must be absolutely avoided during the entire
procedure.
