Now align the wind vane with the tip towards North. There is a compass at the top of the wind vane (10).
Then attach the wind vane by an adhesive strip and take the weather station into operation.
After the weather station has successfully completed the search for the outdoor sensor and the sensor
search has been terminated, remove the adhesive strip again.
c) Inserting Batteries into the Weather Station
Permanent lighting of the display is only possible if the enclosed plug-in mains adapter is connected. In this
case, the batteries are used to retain data in case of power outage (or if the weather station is to be taken
to a different location and you need to disconnect the plug-in mains adapter for this).
In pure battery operation, the display lighting is activated for a few seconds every time a button is pushed
to save power.
Open the battery compartment (7) on the rear of the weather station and insert 3 type AA/mignon batteries with correct
polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-). Close the battery compartment again.
Like for the outdoor sensor, we recommend using only high-quality alkaline batteries for the weather stati-
on.
If you want to use rechargeable batteries, always use special NiMH batteries with a low self-discharge.
d) Connecting the Plug-In Mains Adapter
Connect the low-voltage plug of the enclosed plug-in mains adapter to the corresponding round socket (8) on the rear
of the weather station.
Then plug the plug-in mains adapter into a proper mains socket.
e) Set Weather, Register Outdoor Sensor, Save North Alignment
Right after inserting the batteries or connecting the plug-in mains adapter, the display will briefly display all display
segments.
Then the weather station emits a sound signal and the weather icon for weather forecast flashes in the upper left of
the display.
Use the buttons „CHANNEL/+/SEARCH" (3) or „MEM/-" (4) to set the current weather and briefly push the button
„MODE/SET" (2).
The indications for outdoor temperature now flash in the display and the weather station scans for the outdoor sensor
signal. This will table about 3 minutes. Push no buttons at the weather station during this time and do not move the
weather station.
Push the button „TRANSMIT" (17) at the outdoor sensor to calibrate wind direction. The weather station then emits
a sound signal.
Do not forget to remove the adhesive strip from the wind vane that fastened it pointing North (see chapter
9. b).
