Warning
Each time the basic carrier bars are fitted to the
roof, before each trip and periodically during
longer journeys, check all the screws on the basic
carrier bars to make sure that they are secure,
and retighten them if necessary. Repeat these
checks at regular intervals as road surface
conditions dictate, and at least every 1550 miles
(2500 km) of continuous use.
Do not use any lubricant on the screws of the
basic carrier bars. The screws could work loose,
causing the basic carrier bars and the load to
become detached from your vehicle and thus
injure you and others and/or cause damage to
property, including damage to your vehicle.
Fitting the cover strip
If no accessories are fitted, then the cover strips (5)
should be attached in order to minimise wind noise.
